Steam Sale

Every year I wait for the Steam Sale as some amazing things come down in price! It's a hoot!

I was intending to buy 3 items I actually only bought one it's called Bunch of Heroes! It's downloading now and unfortunately it's not hosted on Game Arena so the download will be going towards the quota.

Once I played it I will update the blog with a mini review.

Quickscoping

Quickscoping on Modern Warfare 3 is a wonderful thing! There is nothing like taking on 3 opponents with just your bolt action rifle.

I used to do this on Modern Warfare 2 I was never really any good at it, I was never consistent shall we say. I would go into a lobby and for the first few games I would play really very well and after that I would just become useless I've really never had the knack for playing well consistently. In Modern Warfare 3 it is exactly the same, I will play very well and then just be useless and I have searched the internet for tips on how to master the "Quickscope" and it seems it just comes down to practice and knowing when to pull the trigger. I experienced a game today with a bunch of guys who were all in a clan, one of them happened to be a friend so I played on their team they all used snipers and we won in a matter of minutes. They were all quickscoping destroying the opposite team and forcing them to leave.

So I reckon I will just keep practicing and maybe one day I will become one of the best around (NOT), it seriously becomes such an annoying thing to learn as rapid fire weaponry just tear you to pieces.

Modern Warfare 3

I bought this game, I just had to have it. As soon as I had the money I bought it. The reason I bought it is because well, I enjoyed all the last ones and since they don't change the game much why the hell wouldn't I enjoy this one.

So I have had the game a couple of weeks now, I completed Single Player not the most compelling of stories but what the hell Captain Price is still in the game and he is baller! So after switching characters almost every level and dying a load (playing on Veteran) I managed to complete the game. Awesome fun a whole new array of weaponry and I was glad to see the G36C back in action along with many other guns.

Now I had the choice of Multiplayer or check out the new Survival mode, so I did just that. The new game mode is awesome adore it! I think it's extremely fun and becomes a significant challenge on higher difficulties along with higher rounds. I like the fact that you can call in squads, predator missiles but it was lacking something. I'm not sure what, Horder mode for Gears Of War had something. I tried to pin it down and I couldn't come up with the answer. There are however a few annoyances whilst playing the mode for example if you are intending to camp in a room and have a Riot Squad with you they often block entrances! This is no good if you are trying to retreat tactically you have a huge Frenchman with a riot shield blocking you. I think Infinity Ward can build from this Survival mode, I'd like to see the addition of more players along with some Survival dedicated maps not just the lot from Multiplayer, also I think you should be able to tactically command the squads you call in. I also believe that you should be rewarded after a certain few rounds something similar to Nazi Zombies with the bonus drops but rather have "Command" drop in some additional help or maybe even some Juggernaught armour for you or a buddy.

Then onto Multiplayer and as you can imagine the fun didn't stop, of course if you have played any previous Call Of Duty then you'll know what to expect nothing less than action packed warfare with bullets flying all over the place. As with all the Call Of Duty's you have your few imbalances for example the FMG9's are extremely over powered in close quarters I would even go as far to say that Short-Mid range combat these are demons and paired with selected perks you are a machine on some of the tighter maps. I am loving the new game modes that have been added. The downside is that the Matchmaking system for me living in Australia is still very annoying, it seems that still Australia get's left in the dust when it comes to Online gaming. I mean come on the continent is big enough and the population is rising give me some goddamn dedicated servers that I can rank up in?! I experienced a game where it was mainly Australians and myslef and another player alternated host every now and again through selection. At the end of the fifth game, it took us back to the lobby and 4 more players joined new game starts and the server get's handed over to these new players who happened to be playing from Europe, now why does 4 Europeans take host over the majority of Aussies? That's ludicrous!

Aside from all that it is a fantastic game that will keep me entertained over the Xmas period!

Peace

Mods

I had a little play around today, I picked up the developer mods and played on my Logan toon and with these mods plus Logan's AoE he's Over Powered! Extremely over powered, especially the mindblowing mod you gather up all the zombies you can aim at the most central zombie and throw! Ka-Boom! All there heads explode, it's unreal. He has to be the best character in my books now, Xian Mei does amazing damage but when you can clear a room in one throw...

2nd Playthrough

So I started my 2nd playthrough today on Dead Island and first I clicked on Purna and thought I'll try again with her, but I wanted something new. So I decided to try out Logan and got about 20 mins and thought Nah! This is highly boring and switched to Xian Mei and she is awesome! Slice and Dice! I've heard her Rage ability is really bad, but I really like it. It get's you out of situations that she just can't handle on her own. If she get's out numbered you are pretty screwed especially with Infected flying around so why not just pop her rage and slice 'em all down.

Sweet as!

Dead Island Save Editor

I stumbled across this during random google search it certainly adds help to those who can't quite stick to a character and want to keep your inventory. It might just give me what I need to set up a Logan character and not lose all of my stuff, but it would be nice for a fresh restart.

Any ways all will become clear just check this link out.

Fantastic! Keep up the good work "Steffen" I believe this is his name.

Dead Island 1st Playthrough

Well, it's done. The hours and hours of game play and it's done. The story is ok not the most thrilling of stories but at least in my opinion the game play was solid (you'll have to excuse the few glitches along the way).

I started the game as Purna with all the hope and expectation of being a Firearms master class and picking of Zed's from afar but sadly this was not the case, well at least not for the first few hours (spoiler alert no actual gun play till at least Act 2 and even then it's stretch). Even though my dreams were shattered I had a huge amount of fun of slicing and dicing Zombies left right and centre with Kitchen Knives to Machete's and watching there limbs dangle from their bodies. Then I managed to obtain a Co-Op partner half way through the story great guy we had some laughs, was great! He was playing as Sam B and I thought to myself his character is kicking the sh*t out of all these Zombies and I felt my character was absolutely useless it did next to no damage in comparison, I toyed with myself all day trying to figure out what was going wrong and whether to start a new character and try achieve the same ass kicking. So I messed around a little trying to find out was wrong a lot of it came down to weapon choice and upgrades and mods, although I had all the same things as he did I decided not to use them as I thought something that is just over powered is going to be around the corner. This was not true I, upgraded my weapons I modded some and boy did it make a difference. As the game progressed more and more weapons were coming through and Purna came into her own a bad-ass chick who's Rage is of the chain and the DPS output from her guns is amazing! I completed the game only a few moments ago and am thinking should I try something different or just use Purna again?

So in a summary of my experience through this game it was fantastic! Great fun and happy to continue on to max level. Purna is a great character a bit sucky through the first few hours compared to some of the other characters but as soon as you reach level 20 or so (which goes by nice and fast) you will be a queen of guns and roll through the zombies.
It's good to point out that always aim for headshots, always!
Always upgrade your weapons where possible.
Use mods! Choose them wisely, I went with a gun set up and had 3 different element types for each firearm.
Also use Molotov's, Deo-Bombs and Grenades all the time they are just soo good and very satisfying for kills.

I'll be back with another post as soon as I decide what I am going to do next.
Peace!

First Entry

This is my first entry on my Blog, I came to the conclusion to start writing a blog to get my opinions on games across to other people. I don't know how I am going to get people to read this blog all I know is that I want people to read my views and who knows someone might like them.

The idea of this blog is not only to get my opinions of games across but also my expierience of playing the games and how I try and tackle challenges in games and how I go about solving them and maybe it will help other people in tackling situations.

So that's my first blog entry and I will write another one as I am currently playing Dead Island and loving it but there are some very interesting points to note about the game.
